Presentations & Speakers
Do you have an upcoming meeting where your members may be interested in learning about our mid-county water issues such as groundwater, water reliability, water conservation, and long-term actions towards sustainability? We are available to speak to small and large groups. We regularly present to our local Rotary clubs, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis clubs, Surfrider, Aptos Community United Methodist Church, Cliffwood Estates - just to name a few.
Water Education Trailer
Request the water education trailer to visit your group or school. It's like a mobile museum exhibit! It displays our Community Water Plan supply options in a hands-on way and shows the steps involved in advanced water treatment to replenish and recharge the groundwater basin. See a reverse osmosis filter unrolled and the cross section of a microfiltration tube. A short video shown in the trailer summarizes the water projects being studied to help heal the groundwater basin.
To invite a speaker to a meeting, please contact Vai Campbell at 831-475-8501 ext. 142 or email@example.com
Community Water Plan Learning Center
Take a self-guided journey to explore “Our Path to a Reliable Water Supply.” Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the groundwater basin (our sole source of water) that is threatened by seawater contamination and climate change, how the District gathers data to better manage the groundwater basin, and the four water supply options that we are evaluating. The Learning Center is open Friday, from 10am to 2pm and is located at the District Headquarters, 5180 Soquel Dr. Soquel.
To book a guided tour, please contact Vai Campbell at 831-475-8501 ext. 142 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have you ever wondered how water from your tap gets there? What does the Water District do to make sure that it's safe and clean to drink? Soquel Creek Water District offers tours to small groups and classes year-round to give our students and community residents an opportunity to learn more about the District, encourage an open dialogue, and to answer questions. We also provide 'Open Public Tours' twice a year. Tours are a great 'behind the scenes' way to view our facilities, learn how our water system works, meet and greet District representatives.
The District provides free water education programs that are available to students and teachers from preschool through college and community groups within our service area.
To request a tour of a well or tank for a group or class, please contact Vai Campbell at 831.475.8501x142 or email@example.com.
Throughout the year, staff and board members from Soquel Creek Water District attend community events such as Earth Day Santa Cruz, the Santa Cruz County Fair, the Capitola/Soquel and Aptos Chamber of Commerce's Business Showcase, and more. With fun facts, games, and water conservation giveaways, we get to talk with thousands of customers and residents about all things water related.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to invite us to your next water-smart event.
