Outdoor Water Efficiency Ordinance 16-03

Water Conservation in Landscaping Ordinance 16-03 was adopted on March 15, 2016. This Ordinance repeals and replaces Ordinance No. 10-02. This ordinance follows the California Water Conservation in Landscaping Act, also known as the State Landscape Model Ordinance, which establishes certain landscape design standards that save water in new and expanding landscapes. The California Water Conservation in Landscaping Act was amended pursuant to AB 2717 (Chapter 682, Stats. 2004) and AB 1881 (Chapter 559, Stats. 2006).

Indoor Water Efficiency Ordinance 16-02

The indoor water use ordinance 16-02 sets water efficiency standards indoors for all new development, regardless of building classification. This Ordinance repeals and replaces Ordinance 13-02. This ordinance applies to development projects requiring new or expanded water service and kitchen and bathroom remodels requiring a building permit, plan check, design review, or new or expanded water service unless enforced by the local land use planning agency.

Initial Study/Proposed Negative Declaration for Land Acquisition for a Future Employee Parking Lot/Corporation Yard Extension

Project Overview:

The intended purpose of the land acquisition is to expand the Soquel Creek Water District’s parking and corporation yard capacity by eventually constructing an internally accessed parking area that will be available for employee parking, fleet vehicles and equipment storage.

The opportunity to purchase the land is underpinned by the Soquel Creek Water District Draft Master Plan Report, by Noll & Tam Architects, released in March of 2015. The report identified the District’s current needs, vision, and objectives for its existing 5180 Soquel Drive headquarters. One of the key objectives detailed within the Master Plan is the District’s need for the acquisition of an adjacent vacant lot located directly west of the existing facility.

Soquel Creek Water District is the Lead Agency for the project. The property purchase is intended to be completed after the environmental review is certified.

FINAL REPORT - CONJUNCTIVE USE AND WATER TRANSFERS – PHASE II

This report describes the results of technical, regulatory, and legal studies carried out to further define the feasibility of water transfer options between water agencies in the Santa Cruz Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) planning region. This work began in 2007 with Phase I of the Conjunctive Use Feasibility Study, funded by a Proposition 50 Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) implementation grant. Further evaluations were conducted in 2012-14 under the current effort, funded by a Proposition 84 IRWM Planning grant. This report presents the results of those evaluations, which can be utilized in the ongoing water supply planning efforts currently underway in the region.
