The Soquel Creek Water District Board of Directors adopted the 2020 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and the District’s Water Shortage Contingency (WSCP) Plan at their June 15, 2021 Board Meeting. The UWMP is a required report by the California Urban Water Management Planning Act and will be submitted to the California Department of Water Resources for review and approval by the State.
The UWMP is a long-range planning document that assesses current water demand, projects future demand over a minimum 20-year planning horizon, and identifies a mix of water resources and conservation efforts to meet future demand. The 2020 UWMP also includes the District’s WSCP which identifies water shortage stages and associated curtailment actions to allow for efficient management of any water shortage with predictability and accountability.
