Proposed Water Waste Prohibition Ordinance 10-03 – Notice of Public Hearing

Soquel Creek Water District requests public input on proposed Ordinance 10-03 Prohibiting Certain Uses of Water and Establishing a Policy to Minimize Water Waste.

There will be a Public Hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Ordinance.

When:  December 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Where:   Soquel Creek Water District Board Room located at

5180 Soquel Drive, Soquel.

The proposed Ordinance prohibits general and specific wasteful uses of potable water within the Soquel Creek Water District.  The Ordinance will replace existing Resolution No. 06-08 that was adopted by the Board on May 2, 2006.  Changes are needed to better help protect the District’s water supply and to avoid or minimize the effects of groundwater overdraft, seawater intrusion, and drought.
