In the 36 years since Boots and Carm McGhee have been customers of the Soquel Creek Water District, they've seen a lot of changes in our environment. They are both very sensitive to our region and it's natural beauty. It has been an integral part of their lifestyle. That's why they are conserving water with gusto.
Carm collects water run off from indoors and uses it to water her plants outside.
Boots and Carm are well known in the community. They use every opportunity they can to help educate about water saving and encourage others to adopt water-wise ways.
They view this as a way to ensure a future for their young nieces and family. In addition to replacing their lawn, they also take short showers, save water in their shower and sink, and they only wash clothes and dishes with a full load. Boots and Carm have really been appreciating their new turf --- and, no gophers!
