Can you believe it? The District is now offering $250 rebates to customers who replace their older pre-1992 toilets with the new high-efficiency toilets (HETs). The low-flow toilet rebate ($75) ended on December 31, 2006. Note: You must turn in an application with receipt within 90 days of purchase.

which toilet models qualify for a rebate? You can pick out any high-efficiency toilet on the market that flushes 1.28 gallons or less (This includes dual-flush toilets). Adjustable flush volume toilets are not rebated. See below for a list of local retailers. California Urban Water Conservation Council also maintains a list of HETs that have been tested for flush performance. Click here to see info on HETs.

i heard i can get a free toilet installed? Yes, this is a separate program. Click here for info about the free toilet program (up to a $660 value) Call 831-475-8501 ext. 146 or e-mail the conservation specialist to set up a house call for qualifications. Note: This is a separate program from the toilet rebate. You cannot get the rebate if you received a free toilet.

how do i get the $250 rebate?
Visit the District office (5180 Soquel Dr.) for copies of the rebate application and the requirement details, or click here to download the application (.PDF format).  Or give us a call and we’ll mail you an application. The rebates are only for replacing pre-1992 toilets. If you’re not sure how old your toilets are, call us for a free water survey (475-8500 ext. 146) or e-mail us.

The new $250 rebate for high efficiency toilets is available now.  As of January 1, 2007, the District no longer provides the $75 rebate for purchasing the typical 1.6 gallons per flush toilets.
